We have new industries coming into Central Ohio, yet many current employers are having incredible difficulty in finding job-ready individuals.

Current Central Ohio employers have had great difficulty finding and retaining skilled workers for their businesses. How have the last few years affected the hiring/retention processes?

Applicant skill levels are the predominant concern employers have wrestled with. What factors do you feel are contributing to this situation?

It’s evident that other family situations are also critical.

The need for child care, preferences to work from home, or the rising costs of living translate to the need for higher salaries. Have these situations changed the processes of hiring?

There is also a constant need for evaluation of business costs, particularly payroll levels. Now that government funding is no longer available, how are employers shifting their views on salary levels?

Regardless of what it is called, “quiet quitting” or “acting your wage” how are employers dealing with retention issues? It is difficult to engage individuals when the workload just doesn’t stop and increasing salaries may not be possible. How do employers stop this train wreck from derailing their business?

What do you see changing in 2023 and the near future to increase the pipeline pool?

Are employers developing best practices to better control the situation? Are they changing internal HR processes? Or upgrading technology/software to better evaluate diverse applicant pools?
